Dating, shopping…what’s the difference? Both involve looking around for the perfect something (or someone) that will make us feel happy, special and fulfilled. We shop because we want to treat ourselves to things that feel we have earned and deserve and we date for that same reason. We all feel we deserve to find someone who will love us, admire us, respect us and make us happy. In both shopping and dating, our goal is to find pleasure and satisfaction.

The kind of shopper you are can play a big role on the kind of person you will find and get involved with in your dating life. So, what kind of shopper are you socially?
Perhaps you are doing all that is right for yourself, according to what your dating goals are- or perhaps your goal is to find a certain kind of person, but your shopping style is sending you in the wrong directions, resulting in you meeting the wrong people for you.

Here are some of the different styles of Social Shoppers and what kind of partners they will most likely land you. Find the style that best describes the kind of shopper you are and ask yourself how it’s working for you. If it’s not working for you, then perhaps you can use this as a guide to make some changes that will help send you down the right path, so that you can meet the kind of person that will match you best.

Social Shopper’s:

The Bargain Hunting Shopper:

In the dating world, a bargain hunting shopper is one that that looks for the best deal. They are looking for someone nice to date that they can get along with, do fun things with, but are not too picky, as long as the person seems decent enough and likes them. Bargain hunters are willing to compromise a lot more than other kind of shoppers. They can look past the less than perfect looks and can let go of the idea of having to be so strongly attracted to the person physically. They are more open to going out with someone who is not usually their “type “physically, as long as they can get along and have a good time together.

 The approval seeking shopper is the type that takes her (or his) friend along for shopping to ask for their opinion. Their friends’ opinion is very important they take these opinions pretty seriously before making any purchases or investments. This goes for investments made in material shopping, but in relationship shopping as well. These types will introduce someone they have been dating to their friends and then find out what their friends think. If their friends ‘feedback is positive over all, they will happily continue dating the person. However, the feedback from their friends is not so positive or just plain negative, then they will hesitate to continue dating that person, or just stop dating him or altogether.

The High Maintenance Shopper

Their hot, up to date socially, professionally and financially and will not settle for less than that either! This is a high maintenance shopper and they know what they want and never lose focus. High maintenance shoppers do not need approval from others, nor do they care for too much input, as they have already set their goals on what kind of person they want with what kind of qualities and will not settle until they find exactly that type of person. While this can have a negative side in the sense that they will not give many nice people with a good heart and chance, at least they feel secure about who they are and know themselves enough to choose lovers accordingly- someone whom they can truly feel well matched with.

So of you have a certain shopping style socially and are expecting to find someone that does not fit into this shopping method, then perhaps it is time to explore the different types of shopping styles and see what kind of results you get in return. Remember, you attract people according to the kind of presentation you display of yourself.
