New To This And Would Like Some Advice

Hello People. Well i am new to this and I was hoping to seek some advice, I have never been in a LDR and have never thought it was a good idea but i have a penpal who i have gonna pretty close to and has sort of asked me to get into a relationship with him and build it up to something special and i was just hoping to find someone with some sort of experience as i am the sort of person who doesnt get into anything unless i know it could work so i am hoping that some one or some people could help me and advise me with a few points about how to go around and how to deal with it.
