When I was 19 years old my mates and I took a holiday to Spain in the summer of 2008. As usual a group of 5 lads on vacation were out to do one thing, party. One night we decided to check out a night club by the hotel which seemed to be the “it” spot. As I was dancing half drunk, a girl with these dazzling brown eyes caught my attention, it seemed as every single guy in the club was laying eyes on her and the group of girls she was with. My friend kept repeating that if she would talk to me it would be a miracle.  I starred for a couple of minutes until I got the courage to go up to her. She was incredibly friendly and instantly smiled when I said hello to her. Turns out we left the club together and went towards my hotel pool where we stayed up talking till 7am. She wasn’t just looks, she was smart, funny, and had this amazing personality.  The only part was that I lived in Australlia and she in Miami. In a matter of those 7 hours I had grown feelings for her and knew I was doing the wrong thing by getting attached. I took her home by daylight and she was so tired it was quite cute. She took my email and we said our goodbyes. I told her I’d see her before she left back home. As I was walking home I couldn’t get her out of my head. Was I already attached in a matter of hours? I promised myself I wouldn’t see her again. She emailed me and I didn’t respond. Two days went by and her face couldn’t get out of my head. As I was walking down the street in Madrid I walked directly by her without her noticing. The odds of seeing someone you know in such a large town are quite slim. My friends mocked me for not saying hello. About a couple hours later I’d seen her again and we exchanged a quick hello. She looked quite devistated, but I didn’t bother to ask why. I felt a whole in my heart, for I was into this girl yet wanted to avoid pain. I thought this was the last time I’d see her big smile and dazzling eyes. Well, I was wrong I’d run into her 3 more times and she made friends with my lads. She was upset with me and I was upset with myself as well. As I got on the plane to head back home I spent the whole flight thinking about her and that I would never see or hear from her again. Days went on she slowly wisked away from my mind. A couple months later and I had barely thought about her. Fast forward a year later, I met new girls and she was like an old book I read. For holiday this time my friends and I decided to take a trip to the Greek islands. As I was walking down a main blvd my heart dropped. It was her!! Looking at the sea shell necklaces on display. Her hair fell over her shoulders just how I remembered. My mates noticed as well and begin to chat up with her as she was surprsied. She hadn’t yet noticed I was there because I’d walked off. Once she trapped look on me, her eyes began to fill with tears. She walked up to me and just hugged me before saying anything. It was like in the movies. How could this be happening to me? We spent that whole holiday together and many more. 9 years later and she’s still the love of my life. Fate burns brighter than the stars.

Four-Square, Sunsets, and Truth or Dare

I have liked the same guy since fourth grade. That is a long time seeing as I’m now going into seventh. If your looking for a young love story with a lot of ups and downs, this one is for you. But I must warn you, its a story that takes place over the span of three, almost four years; it might take awhile.

It all started in fourth grade. I have never been into sports but imagine my surprise when a cute, funny, and outgoing BOY helped me figure the game out. Four-Square was the game of the year. He’d start to get me out when I got better, but before that, he got me to square two and helped me stay there, and I’d help him stay in square one. Then when four-square got banned for being too competitive, another boy in my class suggested we play a game he made up, soon after known as Wall Ball. He did the say thing for me there too. The first time it dawned on me that I might actually like this boy was when someone yelled something while we were playing the game. The boy and I were playing against each other and since we are a competitive class, we don’t like long games. Unlike him, I was actually trying, but no matter what I did I couldn’t get him out. I loved watching the faces of the boys when I beet the person who was the best at it, my best friend, that was a boy. He didn’t even have to try, he was winning. But the boys were getting antsy. The next one in line yelled,” Can someone please just get out already. Or are the lovebirds to in love to get each other out.” And even then, when I didn’t like him back, he was still protective of me. He quickly got me out while I was still processing the information. The boy who yelled that out took his turn to emidiatly find himself humiliated at how fast he got out. That was the last thing I saw before I ran off to tell my friends. It was that day when I realized that I liked him.

The nest year, of course, I had still liked him. Though now I wanted him to like me back. So naturally I took the teasing approach at first. And that’s the only approach I took for awhile. My crush plays guitar and loves the 80’s rock style. Mainly that being the hair. Even though he was the most popular boy in my class, he still got made fun of. So I made fun of his hair, a jacket that matched a girls, and boots that were bedazzled. I realize these were some pretty weird things but if you like someone enough it shouldn’t matter what they look like or their fashion choices, the only thing that should matter is their personality. And it shouldn’t be up to you to change someone’s style, it is theirs to change, if they want to. The worst one that I can think of was the boots. I made fun of them, said I was sorry then did it again. I never apologized to him for that. Why I’m talking about this, you will realize later. The major thing that happened to me that year was self-rejection. I had, for whatever reason, a drop of self-worth for the last trimester for fifth grade. Why would someone like him want me? What qualities do I have that this girl over her has? None. she is more pretty, and skinny than me. And so he must like he. Not me. Right? There are so many reasons this is wrong because I was, nd am, pretty. I don’t have to be perfectly skinny to get the guy. But, of course, I didn’t realize this. So I tried for weeks to figure out a way to make myself prettier. Skinnier. Then I tried just to not like him anymore. A new kid came and I thought maybe if I like him then I won’t like this guy who doesn’t like me because I’m ugly and fat. Yes, I was in fifth grade and thinking these things. But, just as you thought, that strategy didn’t work like I wanted to. And so another year passed of me not knowing weather or not he liked me.

The beginning of sixth grade was a blur. But then the annual week long camping trip came  up. I didn’t think anything would happen, but boy was I wrong. The first day passed like a blur with the only highlight of the day being I was in a group with him. We went to the beach that night. It was sunset and I was sitting next to him. Everyone else was playing tag and building sand castles. I don’t exactly remember why we were sitting there but I’m glad I was. I had been thinking about last year and teasing him about the boots. I’d meant earlier to tell him I was sorry for teasing him, but it kept slipping my mind. I chose then to tell him. ” You know how last year I made fun of your boots,” he looked at me and without waiting for an answer, I continued on,” Well I already apologized to you about that. But then I did it again, and well I realized I hadn’t apologized for it.  Well I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m sorry for that.” During my shaky, awkward speech, he looked down at the ground. But then I said sorry and he looked up. He smiled and looked me directly in the eyes and I smiled. We both blushed and looked down at the ground. I sat there for a minute awkwardly before I got up and ran to go tell my best friend. When I got back I talked to my older cousin and he said to tell him that I like him. So the next day I told him that. I didn’t wait for an answer. Life went by, slowly but surely. We both got invited to a boy- girl party. We played truth or dare. He and I were both asked the same question, name your crushes form kindergarten back. I did and so did he. We got to fourth grade and we both said that we have liked the same person since then. Neither of us said who. A week later I texted him and asked him who the mysterious girl was. He replied with, you never said who you liked so I’m not going to tell you. I told him that I’d liked him since fourth grade. He said he’d already known this but wanted to know for sure. He also said that he too had liked me from fourth grade.

If you made it this far then please comment 12345 and if you want a part two than also comment down below. Thank you for reading, hope it wasn’t too boring.

I feel a slight twinge of shame when saying it, but I met my current boyfriend and possibly last boyfriend on the popular networking site, Facebook.

It all started about a month before final exams, and I was procrastinating as usual on Facebook. Specifically, I was browsing through the popular YouTube make up artist: Michelle Phan’s Facebook fan page comments. While scrolling down, a face caught my eye. He was “cute” as you may describe it, so I decided to take a look at his comment. It stated something about Michelle never messaging him back and therefore she was mean. Being somewhat of a “troll” myself, I could tell this was an subtle and well played attempt at trolling, and that many would be “butthurt”; and many were. Feeling that it would be the most polite thing to do, I calmly commented how he was just joking, in a way, and that people should just stop overreacting.

He thanked me and added me shortly after. I wasn’t expecting that, as I thought the comment would just be a passing event, but after accepting the friend request, I messaged him with a “Hi :)”. He was cute anyway.

From there, we started talking, first through Facebook messages and chat, then through msn. I actually used to have a bad habit of flirting with guys online, and at the time I also even had a boyfriend, though not a very good one. During those days that I would talk to this boy on msn, he was just another guy that I would flirt with, just another person to occupy my time. I also found out he was 5 years older than me, and at the age of 15, I wasn’t expecting anything to happen anyway. It was harmless and all in good fun, but from the way he talked to me, it seemed like he felt more, although I had no idea how that could cross his mind at such an early stage. One day, he asked me if we could talk on the phone. I felt reluctant, as I usually limit myself to online, but eventually I agreed and we talked.

That night we talked for approximately 5 hours, all the way into the morning. We joked, had deep conversations, and he voiced how he was attracted to me…*really* attracted to me. I was slightly taken aback, as I thought the way he talked to begin with was slightly, how may I put it, gay sounding, so I wasn’t too eager to reciprocate the feeling, but I was still happy to call him my good friend.

A few weeks passed, and the exams were over with, and my current boyfriend was going back to Hong Kong for the summer. The guy that I was talking to online and now on the phone for hours convinced me to break up with my boyfriend, so I did. It actually lifted a great weight off my shoulders, and I appreciated the phone guy, who we shall call “David”, that much more.

Time went on, and eventually, I grew more and more attracted to him, up to the point where I really liked him, but I wasn’t sure where it would go. We shared everything with each other, our family stories, friend stories, secrets, tears, laughter, and happiness. That month, I was to go on a 10 day trip to Italy with my school choir; I waited all afternoon before the plane ride at the airport for him to call. He called while we were boarding the plane, and while we were talking, he shyly said,

“Hey…hey…you’re cute. Hey…hey….you’re beautiful. Hey…hey…… I love you.”

I got tears in my eyes and replied,

“I love you too…I’m going to miss you so much.”

“I’m going to miss you a lot too my princess. Don’t worry though, I’ll find a way to call you, to get to you. Anything for my princess.”

My heart felt so conflicted, both swelling with love, while also prickled with sadness to think that I wouldn’t be able to talk to my David for 10 days…

The next morning, while sleeping in my Italian room with my roommate, the phone rang. I was still asleep, so my roommate picked up, and after realizing who it was, woke me up to give me the phone.

I muttered a groggy, “Hello?”

“Hunnie!”

“Bearbear!” (My nickname for him hehe)

“Aw babe, did I wake you up from sleeping? Do you want to go back to sleep for a bit?”

“No, no, no. It’s almost time to wake up anyway, and I want to talk to you.” 🙂

He asked me to be his girlfriend that day, June 26th, 2010. I found it silly that he even had to ask, because he already knew I loved him and would be more than happy to be his girlfriend! 🙂 Silly bear.

Anyway, that entire trip, all I could think of was him. All my shopping was for souvenirs to send to him (he lives 3 hours away by plane), and he would call me every night, no matter how expensive the rate was. That trip, even though we were further apart, it was the distance that actually strengthened our relationship even more.

After returning from Italy, we had our ups and downs, but they were always resolved, and they added to the strength of our connection and love for each other. I ended up telling my older and younger sister, and my best friend, all of whom disapproved heartily, but I didn’t let them affect what we were. The past month or two have been hard though, because I have been with either my sisters or with my best friend on vacation, on and off for a week at a time, so I have not had enough time or privacy to talk to David.

Currently, I am visiting my older sister in the States with my younger sister, and it is simply too risky to talk to my bearbear on the phone, so I have to rely on online means again. He’s going to come to where I live soon, possibly in September or October. I am so excited for that day, when we can embrace and kiss and feel our bodies finally with each other. We have already planned out how it will work. I will go to the airport to go see him, and I’ll run towards him, he’ll pick me up and spin me around while hugging me. It’s going to be picture perfect.

I think of him every moment I wake, and every second I sleep. My thoughts aren’t childish romance dreams, nor are they sexual fantasies. I simply think of him and me lying on the couch together, watching T.V, or just enjoying each other’s company. No awkwardness, no anxiety, just contentedness; peace. I’m waiting for the day when that may come true. For now, I’m happy with our unconventional love, with our destiny to be together. The Princess will forever be with her Bearbear.

I suppose to others, this love story will seem strange, wrong, or even immoral. But to me, it is one of the greatest things that has happened. To make things clear, I am a girl.
I met her a few days after Christmas. The first time we spoke to each other, I knew immediately that I had found a true friend, someone who had so many common interests as me. The only problem; we lived in different countries. So we began messaging each other through MSN, email, and youtube. I soon realized that although we could never physically meet each other, I began to see her in a different light. I knew that I was attracted to both males and females before, but it came as a surprise to me when I slowly developed a crush on her. After about a month questioning my feelings, determining whether or not they were real, I finally decided to tell her I had a form of a crush for her. Her response was that she reciprocated those feelings. A few days later, while messaging her through MSN, I told her that I was wondering what would happen if my feelings ever grew to be more than just a simple crush. I was quite relieved and happy to find that she would never reject my feelings. But she also wouldn’t want to date me until we could meet in person every day. She said she wouldn’t want to tie me down. I understood completely, because I would never forgive myself if I were to cause her pain because she had found someone other than myself that she coveted in such a way. So we remained “just friends.”
Months later, possibly around four, I knew that my feelings had escalated. Very much so. I loved her. I thought that I had loved someone before, but now I realize I never truly had. Not like I loved HER. I only wanted the best for her. In previous relationships, I was extremely jealous, not to the extent where I would voice it, but jealous enough that it would bother me if they were with friends. With this girl, though, it was completely different. I wanted her to be happy, to enjoy everything she could. If her happiness meant we couldn’t speak for days, I was okay with that. I knew I would miss her, but as long as she was okay, I knew I would survive. I wanted to share everything with her, and for her to share everything with me. I’d never allowed a relationship to progress as far as this one has/had. I mean that in the sense that I know things about her. Things I’d never known about exes. As I said before, I love[d] her. So, naturally, I told her. I never expected her reaction to my words. She told me that she wasn’t sure what she was feeling. That she looked forward to it every day. That every time she spoke to me, it made her happy and excited. And then… She told me that she loved me, and that she had never felt this way towards anyone. With those words, I thought my heart would explode from all the joy. I cried tears of happiness at her confession.
To this day, we still speak. I am waiting for her, and I believe she is waiting for me. If it turns out that she finds another, so be it. As long as she is happy, I am. Now I just have to wait for the day when we are able to actually be together.

A Love Lesson Well Learned

I, Brandon Hunter, take you Katherine Taylor, to be my lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part.

A beautiful promise I gave to my wife and to God, but loving Katherine wasn’t my real intention.

The real reason why I married Katherine was all about business. When I learned that she is the only daughter of a family who owns a huge branch of auto shops, I know that I have to marry her to inherit that business. My life with Katherine was perfect, she’s crazy about me and I got the things I wanted. I am in love with my wife but my love for her was not enough to win against my selfish ambitions.

A year after, my wife gave birth to a baby girl; my father-in-law retired and handed the family business to me. Everything went according to plan. I was very proud of my self. The time when I finally got settled in my new position, I’ve become a very busy man. When I’m in work, I totally forget about my wife and daughter. I rarely have time for family, I didn’t even notice that my daughter was already walking and never noticed how tired my wife is in trying to hang on to me.

Our weak marriage was put to the test when Mia Richards came to my life; I met her during a convention in Vegas, she’s strikingly beautiful and we share the same interests.
Mia made me forget about Katherine’s existence, sometimes I would take a day off just to spend the whole day with her. Our love affair wasn’t hidden for too long, the people at the office started to talk until it finally reached to Katherine.

When she learned about it she was in rage. I’ve never seen Katherine so mad before, she slapped me so hard , took my car keys and scratched ugly lines allover my car but I did not dare stop her because I know that it was all my fault. She filed for divorce and we made an agreement that I could see our daughter on weekends.

The 5 years of marriage meant nothing to me, it was only a stepping stone but to Katherine it was a waste of everything.

My relationship with Mia was made public and most of the people, almost everyone hated me. Katherine was a good wife and she never forced me to do something, she doesn’t even demand anything from me but I cheated on her that was a great mistake. Her father was angry at me but we maintained our work relationship.
I didn’t contact Katherine after the divorce and I didn’t even bother seeing my daughter, I don’t want to cause anymore trouble and I’m not even emotionally attached to my daughter.

My parents would call telling me what a terrible father I am and suggested that I should be fair to Katherine in doing my part as a parent – I gave in and did what they told me to do, I thought that maybe parenting would change something or maybe nothing at all.

I talked to Katherine about it, she hesitated at first but I convinced her to give me a chance, I know she doesn’t trust me but Lauren is my daughter too. She gave me 3 days to spend time with our daughter. I thought that my daughter hated me but her approach was far different from what I had expected, she was very happy to see me and at that moment I was moved. “In case you didn’t know, you’re daughter is already four years old” Katherine gave me Lauren’s bag and a long “to do” list. She was right, I didn’t know anything about my daughter the only thing I know is her name. I realized how much I’ve missed in life, I really am a terrible father and I should try hard to make it up to Lauren.

Lauren has the face of an angel, she’s smart, polite and very well behaved compared to the other kids – I am very proud of her and thankful that she’s nothing like me. We bought new toys and lots of candies; I really made sure that she’s having fun. Lauren taught me how to pray and told me how important it is, I was very amazed how easy she can find happiness in little things. After praying, I read to her the story books we just bought until she fell asleep. Tears fell down my cheeks as I was watching her, “I’m very sorry” I said it silently. I blamed myself for ruining her chance of growing up in a complete family. My daughter taught me a lot of things that changed my life and brought me an indescribable joy that I believe, only a father can feel.

I would call everyday to check up on Lauren and we would share stories about how our day went – I’ve become pretty attached to my daughter. Mia and I quarreled about Lauren, it was very clear that she was jealous of my daughter – it was insane. We settled our first fight about it but the second fight was the last draw. She made me choose between me and my daughter, it didn’t take me more than 10 seconds to answer – I chose my daughter. No man in his right mind would give his daughter up for a lover. I didn’t feel hurt when Mia left, actually I felt free. I realized that love never existed between us – it was only infatuation.

I told Katherine about the break up and she laughed at me because I made it sound like a successful plan. Katherine finally warmed up to me and accepted my apology. She noticed how much I changed and my efforts in trying to make it up to them. I admit that I have cheated on her but she’s the only woman that I have ever loved. I took Katherine and Lauren to a vacation and we bonded like a complete and loving family. Lauren was very happy because she felt complete, it touched my heart and I realized that everything’s never too late; Katherine and I have divorced but that’s only in the papers. We made a vow of togetherness for the rest of our lives and as long as we are both alive, there’s no such thing as a divorce. I had a heart to heart talk with Katherine and I told her about the plans I have for us if she’ll give me another chance — and she did.

I married Katherine again and I said the wedding vows sincerely.

“Katherine, I thank you and especially God for giving me a second chance at happiness and for believing in me. I come today to give you my love, to give you my heart and my hope for our future together. I promise to bring you joy, to be at home with your spirit and to learn to love you more each day, through all the days of our lives.”

Even though I did a lot of things that complicated my life, I didn’t regret doing them because it changed me into a better person.

I can say that it was a lesson well learned.

Finding Love Again

Me and Angela never wanted to get married to each other but we have no choice. My Dad would fire me from my job if I don’t marry her and its goodbye to her glamorous life if she won’t. We hated each other, I’m serious and I concentrate about business while she’s childish and stubborn.

A month after, things between us finally cooled down, we started to understand and became comfortable with each other and not long after we fell in love.
When we heard from the doctor that she was pregnant, it changed our life, we became closer and happier, we wanted the baby so badly. I would come home early so we can have dinner together and call every 2 hours just to check up on her.

One day, I was called for a meeting on my day off, I left my cell phone on the car and when I checked it, there were 5 missed calls from Angela, before I can call her back, my mother-in-law called and informed me that Angela was rushed in the hospital, the doctors tried their best to save the baby but it was too late– she miscarried. I was in the bed side caressing Angela , waiting for her to wake up and when she did, she started crying about losing the baby, my heart went out to her I’m sad about losing the baby but I’m grateful that my wife is alive and that’s what matters most.

I thought everything is going to be alright again but day by day she seemed more miserable, she would hold her tummy as if the baby is still there and starts crying, I tried everything to cheer her up by proposing to have another baby but she’s not ready to have one because she’s scared of losing it again. Angela changed so much; she became bitter and unhappy.

I was called for a meeting one time on my day off and she didn’t want me to attend it, I explained to her how important the meeting was but she wasn’t listening, She got angry and blamed me for her miscarriage, I looked at her with disbelief and slammed the door and went to the meeting. I came home late and drunk and when I entered the room she pushed me out and threw a pillow at my face – “I’m sleeping in the couch”.
The next day, I apologized to her but she doesn’t seem to care about my apology, she told me that were going to have separate rooms. I tried my best to fix things between us but it was no use, I finally gave up on her.

Months later, I met Sandy she’s far different from Angela she has a five year old daughter named Megan. They made my life colorful again; I fell in love with them. Sandy promised herself not to trust another man again but I proved her wrong, I didn’t give up on pursuing her, she was everything Angela could never be, I fell deeply in love with her.

Even though she’s not my daughter Megan and I bonded like a real father and daughter, she had never seen her father and Sandy worked very hard to raise her alone — I’m happy I filled the missing pieces. One of the best things that happened to me was when I attended her school’s Parents day and was called “daddy” for the first time, I was overwhelmed with joy. With them by my side, there’s nothing I could ever ask for, I was ready to divorce Angela and accept whatever consequences from my father.

I thought Angela would agree but she cried when I discussed it to her, she told me that she still loves me and she wants to start all over again — “You killed us a long time ago Angela, it’s too late” I said it harshly and left. My father was enraged when he learned about my plan for a divorce, at that moment I wasn’t scared of him. Angela didn’t sign for the divorce but she didn’t bother us, it was clear in her mind that there’s nothing she can do to make me come back.

I continued my life with the people I care about the most. I bought a house for Me, Sandy and Megan and we lived there like a normal family. Sandy was very understanding to everything that was happening in my life and never pressured me. I fought everything that tried to come between me and Sandy, even my own father, I thought I can win over everything that would separate us but there’s one enemy that I could not defeat and it’s Cancer – Sandy is sick with Cancer, she knew about it but never told me and Megan. My world crumbled down when I heard it from the doctor and to make matters worse, they told me that there’s nothing more they can do to save Sandy, all there’s left is to make most of the time she had left. Even though Sandy knew she was dying, she managed to smile and never showed a sign of suffering, she taught me how to accept the changes that I must face soon and learn to love again.

Sandy left with peace and contentment in her heart, I felt lonely but not hopeless, I still have Megan and I promised Sandy that I would take good care of her. Angela was supportive and became my friend; I noticed that there was a big change in her. She was kind and caring to Megan. I remember what Sandy taught me – It was to love again and I did, but it took a while for me to learn to love Angela again. We got back together and she treated Megan like her own daughter. She gave birth to our baby girl and she didn’t mind calling the baby “Cassandra”, Sandy’s name.
